As a musher and lover of fine art, I have been a distant admirer of his work for years.

So you can imagine my excitement when I received an email from Jon Von Zyle- complete with a rough sketch of his concept- offering to create an original painting dedicated to our 2025 Centennial Seppala Expedition, and making a limited edition 100 prints available as a fundraiser for the expedition!

We are now pleased to offer an artist proof edition print of this amazing piece of art. The artist proof edition is extremely limited to just 10 prints. They will also include a small pencil sketch by Jon. This is a must-have for any fan of Jon\’s work.

Art is Jon’s life and Alaska, all Alaska, has been his inspiration.

Artist Jon Van Zyle has seen more of Alaska in a much more unique way than most can ever hope to experience.

Jon has twice completed the 1049 miles of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race between Anchorage and Nome.

From these adventures he has created the yearly Iditarod poster series commemorating the race and his involvement.

In 1979 he was made the official Iditarod artist, a title he still holds today.
